state sanctioned violence: a thread for blood sports

talk about the cage fights, knuckling up, stepping into the ring, big gloves and big money right here

i am looking forward to the bare knuckle fighting championship event later this month, nothing like watching people punch each other in the face for 10 minutes for the price of a used sedan

Dennis Alexio was the epitome of 80's kickboxing badasses, so much so that he played Jean Claude Van Dam's Brother in Kickboxer the movie. Apparently he is from California but growing up I always thought he was from Hawaii because lived there and held the world free diving spear fishing record for his 151lbs Ulua that he speared at 150 feet. He was undefeated until he lost a decision to Don the Dragon Wilson then moved up to heavy weight. He was invited to be in UFC 1 but refused due him being a multi federation champion and the UFC and cage fighting being unheard of at the time. There was shit talked of him in the late 90's for him cruzing in Hawaii and fighting cans but hey, he was already getting old at that point. But perhaps he should have continued fighting to stay out of trouble. He is now serving 15 years in a federal penitentiary for tax fraud but but he gave us 25 great years of state sanctioned violence and this amazing highlight video. So thank you Mr. Alexio you da man.
