obscure video game stuff:

Saint

Saint does Let's Plays of strange and obscure video games. Old point and clicks, worlds.com clones, weird RPG maker games, funky platformers, and more. He's got a kind of calm, monotonous style of commentating, but he's also really funny at times. He's not putting on an act at all, which I appreciate. Lots of interesting, bizarre, and comically bad games to be seen here. One of my favorite channels on YouTube.

WET GAMIN

An online library of weird indie games created by magicdweedoo, the man responsible for Ticket, MealMate™, and A True Western Romance, among other games. All of the games on WET GAMIN are pretty short so there's not much time investment required to enjoy them fully.

kept seeing recommendations for cumtown on youtube, I gave it a listen and was really disappointed. Not sure the venn diagram of mde fans to cumtown fans, love mde and dagger, but cumtown struck me as the guys Sam and Nick make fun of in Williamsburg.

I mean, I think Cumtown is something I can take in small doses. I guess whether or not they're funny is very subjective, but I think that Sam and Nick probably wouldn't make fun of them nearly as much as you'd think (Sam follows the Cumtown podcast on Twitter, after all). While Cumtown leans heavily "progressive," for sure, I think IMO that they're super funny, if you can disgard their often annoying politics and nu-beta tendencies. They are definitely in that Chapo Trap House realm of "edgy socialist" comedy. So while Cumtown might have great bits, I don't think anyone who likes MDE and Dagger would recommend Cumtown for the same reasons they'd recommend MDE and Dagger.

Definately not. Nu-beta is a big turn-off, and I get some kind of psychic joe rogan DMT annoyance from looking at nu-betas for too long. Guess I can sense their estrogenized pineal glands.
