With Netflix about to CG animate the shit out of another one of my favorite anime's Some one was kind enough to upload and excellent copy of the original Spriggan. Though not Old school by my standards i realize that 1999 was a long time ago so i just have to accept that this is now considered an old anime.

My hat goes off for, and I give a toast to my father. We don't talk much, really at all, these days, but my father introduced me to stuff like the Sega Genesis and Japanese Anime among other cultured things in the midst of an ever deteriorating civilization that keeps building on top of itself. Gigantor, Vampire Hunter D, Akira, and Twilight of The Cockroaches are some of the names I can remember.

Osamu Tezuka wrote the Phoenix saga over the course of his career. If you find any of the manga in the wild I highly suggest picking it up. In the mean time enjoy the ova that gives just a taste of the12 volume saga.

Probably most people already know about Legend of the Galactic Heroes, but I'll go ahead and post it anyway. I think it's a bit bloated, honestly, but the core story and writing is good. I'm not aware of anything else quite like it. Definitely one of the best anime I've seen.

Prequel film to the series, recommended to start here.

An improved remake of the first two episodes of the series.

The OVA series proper.

There's also Legend of the Galactic Heroes Gaiden, which I haven't seen. As the name suggests, it's a collection of side stories and the like.
