The flash of lightning behind the mountain by c. Bukowski............ Its just easy to read..........quick bursts of energy in poem form, its just extremley tangible / immediate imo... Like a 3 second Bill Wurtz song or something...........

Approximately a quarter of the way done with the unabridged "On War" by Clausewitz. Essential reading for fans of 19th century Prussian military autism. I'm actually having a hard time putting it down, Clausewitz is such a systematic thinker, I can see why it's considered the greatest book on conventional warfare ever written. Would recommend the abridged edition for the casual reader tho.

I'm fighting to get back into reading but I'll drop 2 of my favorite reads since high school.
First was a collection of short stories from Richard Matheson I think it was Steel and other short stories. The titular Steel is great boxing story that takes place in the future and was used as the inspiration for the movie Real Steel, but the story is much better (as usual) There are a lot of great short stories in there, another one that stuck with me was about a writer who survived a nuclear apocalypse and is enjoying the opportunity to write Mankind's Last Words before he kills himself.
The second is much heavier but very thought provoking. It made me realize a lot about planning and management; Specifically Branch Planning vs Root Planning. It mixes the human stories with the big picture policies. I picked it up because I do some firefighting and it caught my eye, but I definitely recommend it to everyone.
