A few months ago I watched a film called 'I Bury the Living,' which overall was not great, although it did have interesting artsy flourishes and a shot that has not left my brain since I saw it. Here it is, I'm sharing it with you chuckleheads:

Elephant (2003) has always been excellent to me, even if it might be ultimately pointless.

That's a really cool shot. I love those moments where old b movies stumble ass backwards into art. I talked about this on the stream already, but if you like those kinda moments definitely check out Roger Corman's The Undead, from 1957:

Will watch at earliest convenience. In the case of I Bury the Living idk if it stumbled ass backwards into art. It's more like it stumbled into being a horror movie. There's a lot in that movie that is of visual interest, the story is just boring and doesn't really make sense.

I've been doing a film club thing since the start of the year, and the two Standout films so far have been

Day Of Ressurection (復活の日 Fukkatsu no hi) (1980) and

The Castle (1997)

Day of Resurrection in scope and scale is truly incredible, and despite its large cast has an extreme emotional weight, The Castle is a very good comedy, only a few really laugh out loud moments but it's very memorable and has some great performances. Best portrayal of how dads act in film prove me wrong.

film club and ripping on zach (and being disturbed by GF poster) has kept me sane through many a passage of primal darkness. TV sucks but /tv is a rare delight
